Bridges of Health Inc.'s Challenge Colorado Therapeutic Riding
Program has partnered with the San Luis Valley Area Heath Education
Center (AHEC). AHEC has arranged for medical and pharmacy students
to volunteer during their rotations in the San Luis Valley.
The medical and pharmacy students are from the University of
Colorado Denver Anshutz Medical Campus School of Medicine and School
of Pharmacy.
Diamond Edge Equine Dental provides all dental care to Challenge Colorado Therapeutic Riding Program horses. Birgit Burglechner performs dental work on one of the CCTRP horses. Adams State College students Lindsay (Freshman) and Melissa (Junior) ride Duke and Barron.
Both horses are Fjords and are currently in training as therapeutic riding horses.
The horses have made progress and will soon be ready to use in therapy sessions.
Adams State College student Monique Kauffman grooms Dottie before children arrive.
